Our Camper in Leadership Training (CILT) program is two weeks long. Campers begin to learn the essentials of leadership,
serve God, solidify fundamental beliefs, and build strong relationships with others.
CILT is a general leadership program with the following major goals:
1. Grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
2. Learn the values and philosophy of Camp Cherith
3. Understand the duties of a staff member and practice the skills required by staff members
such as planning evening programs, cookouts, campouts, and cabin time

CILT 1 is for youth ages 14-17 in their first year of leadership training where they attend skills as active observers. They are to participate in everything, set a good example for other campers, and observe skill leadership. They will be asked to assist in leading each of their skills for one day. They will participate in evening programs and are available to assist with leading programs according to their giftedness.

CILT 2 is for youth ages 15-18 who have already completed CILT 1. In this second year of leadership training, with permission from the CILT Leader, they can be asked to assist as skill leaders. They are to participate in everything, set a good example for other campers, and participate in skill leadership. They will also build on the foundation of what they learned in the CILT 1 program.

Each CILT 2 will choose a “CILT Track”. The Program Track focuses on skill leadership, the jobs of the waterfront staff, and skill leaders. The Counsellor Track focuses on the jobs of the Cabin Leader, DD’s, and Director. The Service Track focuses on the jobs of kitchen staff, maintenance, health care, and Service Team.
